It wouldn&#8217;t boot and wouldn&#8217;t read in a caddy, and as there was no back of the data, it was all lost too. Only one thing for it then, buy and install a brand new hard disk.<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>In this tutorial, I will show you how to physically replace the hard disk, I won&#8217;t be showing you how to install windows now and\u00a0there are many other\u00a0blogs that cover that.<\/div>\n<div>Hopefully this will give you the confidence to go ahead and replace a disk is you need to.<\/div>\n<div>.<\/div>\n<div><strong>Problem<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><strong>.<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>How to replace hard disk (sata)<\/div>\n<div>.<\/div>\n<div><strong> <\/strong><\/div>\n<div><strong>Solution<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>First of all you will need to switch off the laptop, and remove the power connection.<\/li>\n<li>Now turn the laptop over and remove the battery.<\/li>\n<li>You should now see something like this:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_228\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Hard drive symbol<\/p><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Near the symbol(s) you should find the hard disk cover screws remove them and you will see something like this:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div casing, the screws keeping it attached to the laptop case need removing and then you can slide the hard disk out.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"attachment_233\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption to remove the casing screws on the hard disk.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_234\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a it&#8217;s casing.<\/li>\n<li>All that remains is to place the new hard disk back into the casing and reverse the whole process!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Please note hard disks and other computer parts are static-sensitive, meaning you should ensure you discarge any staic you have.
