It was a 60 day trial, and worked perfectly fine.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_44\" style=\"width: 250px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.thepcmechanic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/norton.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-44\" class=\"size-full wp-image-44\" title=\"norton\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.thepcmechanic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/norton.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"180\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-44\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Norton, tried and tested, but also a bit heavy.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>We all know that free anti virus software is now available, but I was also given for free <strong>eScan Internet Securtiy Suite<\/strong>. It has mixed reviews on the web and as it was free to me, I decided to give it a whirl<\/p>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">\n<div id=\"attachment_45\" style=\"width: 206px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.thepcmechanic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/escan.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-45\" class=\"size-full wp-image-45\" title=\"escan\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.thepcmechanic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/escan.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"196\" height=\"257\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-45\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">One word: Avoid<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>That was one of the worst mistakes I have made. Avoid this product at all costs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t want to bore you will what it did to my computer, suffice to say it forced me to reinstall a lot software on my computer, and didn&#8217;t even have a log that told me it was interferring and deleting files on my computer that it shouldn&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>I have used <strong>AVG <\/strong>successfully over the years and would recommend it to anyone, although the last time I tried it it wouldn&#8217;t run with <strong>Zone Alarm <\/strong>one of the best known free fire walls.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">\n<div id=\"attachment_46\" style=\"width: 248px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.thepcmechanic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/AVG.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-46\" class=\"size-full wp-image-46\" title=\"AVG\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.thepcmechanic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/AVG.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"238\" height=\"109\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-46\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Very good anti-virus<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The current antivirus I am using is also free: <strong>Avira AntiVir Personal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">\n<div id=\"attachment_47\" style=\"width: 186px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.thepcmechanic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/antivir.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-47\" class=\"size-full wp-image-47\" title=\"antivir\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.thepcmechanic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/antivir.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"176\" height=\"176\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.thepcmechanic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/antivir.jpg 176w, https:\/\/blog.thepcmechanic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/antivir-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 176px) 100vw, 176px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-47\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Has found viruses other prodcuts have missed<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>It is the first time I have used this product and it has been fine to use. Whenever I get an antivirus, I update it\u00a0with latest\u00a0definaitions and run a full scan on all drives. This antivirus actually found 2 previously unfound virus\/trojans on an external harddisk. Soo imediately it was in my good books. The unfortunate part about this product, even though it is free, has a nag screen that will pop up ever now and then. Which actually has the oposite effect; I wan&#8217;t to pay for it less.<\/p>\n<p>There are of course other free antiviruses you can use such as<strong> Avast <\/strong>and<strong> Panda Cloud Antivirus<\/strong>. I have used both and they are both good anti-viruses.<\/p>\n<p>As I update my website and blog you will find reviews for all the anti-viruses featured in the blog.
